1) 遇見蘇維宇老師:四十載不輟的太極大師

蘇維宇老師現年70歲。在30歲那年,原本練習其他拳術的他,因心臟與高血壓問題被緊急送往醫院急診,才驚覺自己的身體亮起紅燈。當時醫生坦言:「如果想要活命,就必須去練太極拳。」這成為他人生重大的轉折點。

起初,蘇老師也和多數人一樣,認為太極拳只是適合老人的運動,並無實戰功夫。但當他真正深入其中,才發現太極拳與眾不同——它不僅能防身,更能強身養生。

承襲正統 鄭子太極拳 蘇老師隨後拜入鄭曼青先生的再傳弟子——鞠鴻賓太極老師門下。鞠大師的功力極其深厚,其身法極其「鬆、輕」,即使到了晚年坐在輪椅上,其勁道依然讓人無法摸透。蘇老師跟隨鞠鴻賓老師苦練將近40年,完整繼承了推手、拳架、散手等各方面的太極精髓。

太極改變生命:奇蹟的醫學對照 太極拳對健康帶來的改變,在蘇老師身上得到了最真實的驗證。原本患有B型肝炎帶原的他,在持續習練數個月後,體檢時竟發現帶原完全消失,連醫生都感到不可思議。

蘇老師常以自己與親弟弟作為「醫學對照組」:兩人基因相同,同樣在30歲時因遺傳性心血管問題送醫急診。然而,蘇老師選擇了太極拳,至今70歲依然血壓穩定、行動自如;而未練拳的弟弟,如今體內已裝了9支心臟支架。這正是太極拳對「養生」最具力的實證。

行住坐臥 皆是太極 對蘇老師而言,太極拳絕非只是每天去公園練一兩個小時的功課。真正的太極,是融入生活中的「行、住、坐、臥」:

  • 站立時: 隨時在「站樁」尋找中正。

  • 靜坐時: 藉由「小周天」內氣調息。

  • 行走時: 氣沉丹田,每一步都在運氣。

這種將太極内化為呼吸與生活的態度,正是大師與常人的不同之處。

1) Meet Master Su Wei Yeu: A 40-Year Legacy of Tai Chi Mastery

Master Su Wei Yeu is currently 70 years old. His journey into Tai Chi began out of absolute necessity. At the age of 30, despite having a background in other external martial arts, he was rushed to the emergency room due to severe heart issues and dangerously high blood pressure. It was a wake-up call. The doctor gave him a direct ultimatum: “If you want to live, you need to practice Tai Chi.”

Like many, Master Su initially dismissed Tai Chi as a simple exercise for the elderly, lacking real martial prowess. However, once he dedicated himself to the practice, he discovered its profound depth—realizing it is a rare art form that flawlessly bridges self-defense with deep health cultivation.

An Authentic Lineage: Zheng-Style Tai Chi Master Su became a dedicated disciple of Master Ju Hongbin, who was a student of the legendary Zheng Manqing’s lineage. Master Ju’s kung fu was extraordinarily profound, defined by an ultimate state of being “relaxed and light” (Song and Qing). Even in his later years while using a wheelchair, his internal power remained completely unmatchable. Master Su trained under Master Ju for nearly 40 years, fully absorbing the essence of Push Hands (Tui Shou), Form (Quan Jia), and Free-form Sparring (San Shou).

A Living Proof of Healing & Longevity The health benefits Master Su experienced are nothing short of miraculous. Originally a Hepatitis B carrier, his carrier status completely disappeared after just a few months of diligent Tai Chi practice—leaving his doctors astonished.

Master Su often uses himself and his biological brother as a real-life medical comparison. Sharing the same genetics, both brothers were rushed to the ER at age 30 for inherited cardiovascular issues. Decades later, Master Su—who chose Tai Chi—enjoys stable blood pressure and vibrant health at age 70 without relying on heavy medication. In contrast, his brother, who did not practice, has had to undergo surgeries to place 9 coronary stents.

Tai Chi in Every Breath: Walking, Standing, Sitting For Master Su, Tai Chi is not an activity confined to an hour in the park. It is a 24/7 internal state integrated into every aspect of daily life:

  • While Standing: He is practicing Zhan Zhuang (post standing) to find alignment.

  • While Sitting: He is cultivating internal energy through Microcosmic Orbit (Xiao Zhou Tian) breathing.

  • While Walking: Every step is an exercise in mindfulness and internal energy circulation.

To Master Su, Tai Chi is not just a martial art; it is a way of living.
